Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Jessie Johnson was the third daughter in a family of five. Her father was a collector of art and their family spent many hours’ together visiting galleries.
Johnson considers herself a self-taught artist, who has been painting for fifteen years. She has taken many art classes, and enjoys learning and sharing techniques with others. She works with a group, painting alongside artists that are as enthusiastic about art as she is. Johnson does not restrict herself to any one subject matter or medium.
She is ever changing and enjoys trying new things. She began painting with watercolors, but her exploration with different mediums led her acrylic abstracts.
