JAE DOUGALL
Canadian, b. 1956

Jae Dougall was born in Quezon City, Lauzon, Philippines. At age twelve she painted under the tutelage of impressionist painter Jose Trinidad (her father). In 1969 she moved to Canada and continued her studies, attending Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia. She has also studied Spanish language and literature at the University of Madrid in Spain.

Exploring colour, line, and tilted perspective, her works begin in post-impressionism, and she has originated a style that is very much an expression between the heart and spirit, which takes root in her Buddhist philosophies.

Since 1991, Dougall has exhibited in Canada, the United States, and Asia. Her work is displayed in public, corporate, and private collections worldwide.
