Canadian, b. 1963 Michael O’Toole was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He studied architectural design at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, leading him to Toronto where he worked for several architectural firms. The call of the West coast was too strong, and he returned to his birthplace, where he currently resides. O’Toole is comfortable with a variety of media and a wide range of subject matter ranging from seascape to portraiture. His painting style is a balance of emotion and technical skill, and for him an all-consuming passion. O’Toole has enjoyed successful exhibitions throughout British Columbia, and has lectured and published extensively. His work may be found in hundreds of corporate and private collections across Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Japan. |
