NEIL PATTERSON
Canadian (ASA, SFCA, OPAM)

Neil Patterson was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He was fascinated with painting since he was a child, and began his training at the University of Calgary, and the Scottsdale Artists’ School. For many years, he worked as an architectural draftsman, while he simultaneously operated a pottery business. In 1988, after suffering crippling tendonitis, he was advised by his doctor to change professions. At last, he began is journey with paint.

In 1995, Patterson was the first Canadian to become a Signature Member in the Oil Painter’s of America. In 2000, he was awarded the status of Master Signature Member, becoming the 34th painter in this elite group, and now sits on the board of directors. In 1993, he was elected to the prestigious group of intellectuals and artists known as the Salmagundi Club of New York (1871).

Patterson has numerous awards to his credit, and has been published in many books, newspapers, and periodicals. His work has been exhibited across North America, in seven Canadian provinces and in seventeen American states.
