Canadian Born in Vancouver, R.J. Richmond began painting in oils in 1962, and is a self-taught member of the Canadian Federation of Artists. His still life paintings evoke both the tradition of the old world masters, and contemporary realism. Richmond simplifies the number and type of objects in his still life paintings and arranges them in harmonious compositions of colour, shape, and texture. |
